The Viet Nam draft didn't end until 1973; those actively attending college did not have to go. The star which keeps shining - Epstein was an opportunist; attracted those who recognized it; he craved wealth and felt he deserved the lifestyle; he created an environment to build it from nothing. I think he ventured into many avenues much like we see Peter Thiel and Elon Musk doing today. He wanted to test his theories and those he respected by others in order to build his ideal of a perfect society.
